Performing Arts Technology
The opportunity for students to learn about performance technology, including lights, stage design, costume, make up and sound.
Students will apply that knowledge in real life situations that will involve the performing arts at school and in the wider community. Costume and set design/construction, lighting and sound will be covered to allow students to broaden their understanding of all the technologies involved in the performing arts.
Assessments will include sector related standards that can lead to a Vocational Pathways Award within the Creative Industries Pathway. Students may be involved in technical roles for a number of events including Talent Quest, senior drama, dance and music productions.
Standards offered can be used to achieve Students who study PAT at level 1 and 2 have the opportunity to continue study at Level 3. Performing Arts Technology can lead to studies at tertiary institutions in Creative Technologies, Media Organisation and Theatre Studies, (Theatre Management, Directorships, Theatre Technicians), a Diploma in Performance Technologies and employment in the film and entertainment industry.
