Evacuation Procedures Sept 2019

We have been reviewing our schoolwide evacuation plan which has followed on from a parent forum we held early last term. We have crafted an evacuation protocol that is away from the single assembly point (as in the past) to a “dispersed”, multiple assembly point protocol based around six major areas of our school. If an evacuation alarm was to sound then students in each of the six areas would go to the appropriate (and coloured) assembly point. The detail of the evacuation protocol, with the map is attached.

We will be putting this protocol into effect commencing this week and during the balance of the year will be working with our students to ensure they know where to go. The major difference is that there will be potentially 6 assembly points – they will go to the appropriate point depending on their class or if during a break time, the appropriate assembly point. Each classroom will have a coloured map which will highlight the assembly area. If you have any feedback you would like to share please do so.
