Ball Shop

The MBAS Year 11 Business Studies class is organising a pop-up shoe and clothing shop at the end of this term on Thursday 6th July in the school Library from 3p.m. - 5 p.m.  All of the proceeds from this one-off sale will be donated to the Starship Oncology Unit.

Tangos Shoes has generously donated a large stock of shoes and boots to sell at very heavily discounted prices (from $10 - $20 per pair). All new and still in their boxes!

With the school ball coming up at the end of July we would like to be able to offer for sale any unwanted ball dresses, suits and shirts and suitable accessories, again with all sale proceeds going to the Starship Oncology Unit.

If you have suitable items to donate these can be left at the school office any time before Monday 3rd July.

The students of Year 11 Business Studies.

Boomerang Bags

Boomerang-bags

This is a community driven initiative to reduce the number of plastic bags in our community, simply by making reusable bags from recycled materials.

Everyone is welcome to come along every Tuesday afternoon to Mercury Bay Area School to make reusable bags in the sewing room. Its a great opportunity to come along and meet new people, do some sewing, ironing, pining, screen printing or just enjoy a cup of tea.

Help us reduce the amount of plastic bags in our community so we can save our beautiful environment.

MBAS Japan Tour Report

On Sunday morning, 9th April 2017, twelve students and three staff members (Sandi Lowe, Joanna Mannington and Judy Evans) boarded our Air New Zealand flight to Tokyo, ready to embark on a two week language and cultural journey. This trip, which had been a year and a half in the planning, was intended to give our MBAS language learners the opportunity to connect their classroom learning of the language and culture of Japan to the reality of a lived experience. The itinerary had been compiled to include a mix of modern and pop culture, traditional culture and visits to sites of historical significance.
